Kiyomi at The Stone Pony 6/7/14

Kiyomi performed an incredible solo acoustic show last night at The Stone Pony. While she is usually accompanied by her three bandmates, the stripped down, slower verisons of the songs showed a whole other side to Hunter Valentine. At the begining of her set some people in the back were carrying on a conversaton and it got a bit loud; Kiyomi joked that she would be back with the band so they could overpower the noise, and I'm sure she will. Hunter Valentine has played many shows in Asbury Park over the last few years.

Kiyomi has been doing several solo shows recently and has written a new song "Hide and Seek" for her acoustic sets, which she played last night. When she covered "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" and invited the audience to sing along, at the end of the song she asked why not many people sang with her. I heard a man say "That's because you are easy to listen to." He is right, her version of the song was filled with so much emotion it was easy to just listen, watch, and get lost. Kiyomi closed the show with "This Bull Rides Tonight," and many fans joined her in singing the chorus.

Hunter Valentine is currently working on their new album, due out this Fall
